BATTERY FABRICATION FLUX

Fry 981 RBS

Description
Fry 981 RBS battery fabrication flux allows the rapid evaporation needed in high volume cast-on-strap manufacturing. This solvent-based flux contains no chlorides or heavy metals to effect long term performance, and is environmentally safe. Another key advantage is the wide window of operation available with this flux. Whether running at low temperatures due to straps cracking, or high temperatures to accommodate large malss plates, the 981 RBS provides consistently strong bonds.

Uses
Fry 981 RBs provides consistent metallurgical fusing for all lead battery alloys and is especially effective in joining dissimilar alloys as in cast-on-strap manufacturing. Fry 981 RBS exhibits very low fuming or smoking, leaves minimal residues after fusing, and is not highly corrosive. Sound metallurgical bonding is provided with a porosity-free connection.

Benefits
Low fuming
Minimal residue
Not highly corrosive

Application
Fry 981 RBS can be applied by dipping, spraying, or brushing and will function in closed or open systems. It has a long working life in the fluxpot and, if necessary, may be thinned with RBS thinner.
